  1. Absolutely exceeds expectations

Not sure why it took me so many years to finally add a fish to my limited board options but I'm glad when I finally did it was a Heckler. The first several days here in SD after picking up the board have been 1-3' tops, conditions I'd normally resign to dragging out the longboard or just sitting out waiting for more swell. I've caught more small fun peelers in the past week than I could've counted in years. I'm 5'11" 190# and went pretty big by fish standards (bought a 6'4") and while I probably could've gotten away a few inches shorter I have zero regrets, it's awesome. Paddles and catches waves in small stuff way easier than my 6'4" thruster but it's super fast down the line and plenty maneuverable. Looking forward to trying it in bigger surf first chance I get. If you are on the fence just get one.

  2. Mindblowing Design

This is definitely the most versatile board I have owned. I had tried for years to get a board that would provide the speed of my beloved fish along with the ability to carve, hit the lip and move rail to rail with ease. I have surfed my Heckler regularly in 2-3 ft point-break, and it created speed easily and turned on a dime, not a restraint when trying to go more vertical. I can chase sections and anticipate maneuvers like never before. Accelerating and banking turns feel like effortless maneuvers, the response is amazing.
I recently surfed it in barreling overhead beach break, and it worked beautifully too. The refined nose met the vertical drops and walls cleanly, where fishes usually catch rail, and it rode the barrel without a hitch. This is the 1 board quiver I was looking for.
I ordered a 7ft 2in x 22 1/2 x 3 in torsion spring construction. Clint (shaper) was very helpful accomodating to my requests to customize some features, and the sales team was top notch too. I received a really nice looking board, great construction and in time.

  3. Greased Lightning!

Got a 5'6" heckler 150-155lbs 5'-9". Only been surfing 6 months since moving to Costa Rica. Spent about 4 months on a 9 foot and 2 months on a 7 foot. I thought about getting a 6' or 5'10" but didn't want to be ready for a smaller board in another few months. I figured I would go small even if I had to struggle for a while trying to figure out how to surf on such a small board. Surfing on day one! Paddles surprisingly easier than I imagined for such a small board and when I pop up it takes off like a rocket! Extremely responsive. Felt a bit squirrely at first compared to my 7 foot but after the first few rides I felt pretty well in control. It was 4-5 foot and, after 10 days of glass, fairly choppy. I was getting tired of such nice conditions so I bought a new board. Magic! Cant wait to get it out on a clean day!

  4. Best small wave board ever!

Just got my custom Heckler in XTR: 5'10'' x 21'' x 2.37''. I'm 5'9, 190lbs and surf mostly south shore, Oahu. This board is the by far the best small wave board I have ridden. It catches everything and can rip in small to med size waves. To put it in perspective I have a PU/Piranha and wanted to get something to replace it since its 13 years old. This was my go-to small/med wave work horse, its literally yellow and has about a dozen ding repairs, but I still love it. I also have a RNF, Pig2, and maybe not comparable a Flyer F. But this is by far the best small wave board of the bunch. The wide nose and volume up front makes it seem effortless when getting into waves you think you might just be a little bit to deep for. I've never ridden a venturi bottom but it seems to have just slide through the face of a wave. This board is amazing and where ever I look it seems to get me there without much effort. There is nothing like a magic board. It's very evident by the performance of this board that there is a lot of experience and engineering that was put in in this design. Thank Rusty for another small wave workhorse! Mahalo

  5. Fastest small board

Got a 5'6" a few months back and it's now my go to board. Use it in small mushy surf and works great and also in 6-8 ft surf in clean lined conditions, and the board catches and creates speed like nothing I've used before (the rest of the surfers were using 6'8 and bigger boards). It's an amazing board, use it as a twin and twin+trailer, super manoeuvrable anywhere on the wave.

  6. Very versatile !

  7. Heckler Rocks

Just received my new Rusty Heckler and absolutely love it. I'm 57 and weigh 185 and live in Texas so I ordered a 5'10. We just had a two day ground swell that was 2-4 ft and super lined up with offshores.. This board is one of the fastest I've ever ridden and is good in the pocket and great off the top. Can't wait to ride it with the 2/1 setup next. Works great as a quad! Thinking about ordering the new twin next.. Thanks Guys!

  8. HOT LITTLE BOARD

Got the 6'4" Heckler for North Carolina waves , Rode it in waist to chest high short period wind swell ; very fast and can also turn on a dime. I'm 6'2" and 195 lbs and will probably get a 6'6" for weaker waves. Great board !

  9. Best small wave board out there

Posted by on Sep 22nd 2016

Definitely the fastest board I've ever surfed. Took out in clean 2-4ft the other day and worked like a dream, flew down the line and could easily handle manoeuvres. I ride 4 inches shorter than my height but would say you could go shorter than that if you are a competent surfer. Shout out to Rusty UK!

  10. Very Fast

Posted by on Aug 30th 2016

Just took my 5'8" Heckler out for the first time in fun 2-3ft Upper Trestles. This board was very fast and catches waves with ease! This is my new go to board when the surf is small. Very stoked on the Heckler!
