Was my first true shortboard shape after getting off hybrids and alternative shapes. Best board I've ever owned. Seems like a one board quiver since it's been working in small hip/waist high (obviously takes a little effort but that's makes it fun) all the way up to the bigger better days. Hope they always make this shape or something similar!
I am 5'11, 155 lbs, 33 years young ;) surfing the stock 5'8 squash tail.
Live and surf in Costa Rica, surfing mostly beach breaks.
This is exactly the board I was looking for, had a few boards over the years but this board really nailed it for me. Goes super fast from the get go and is super quick and loose on turns.
Thank you guys, please don't ever drop this model.
p.s. Noa Dean is one of the best surfers on the planet today
Sista Brotha. Kinda like the everything bagel, it's good with or with out the cream cheese. I consider this board to be my performance short board here on the east coast (USA) that works well in all sizes. The surf can't really get to small or to big for this board. Before this model came out I was using The Yes Thanks for a little better surf here at home but honestly always felt like the top half of the Yes Thanks was a little too narrower for my liking. Then the Sista Brotha came out and was perfect, it had all the same super responsive performance feel as the Yes Thanks but just enough of a fuller outline that paddled better and made everything happen with a little less effort. I feel like a pro every time I surf it. For an east coast surfer looking for one board that can surf through the small summer months and still handle the fall hurricane swells this boards for you.
The board works really good on steep beach breaks and it is a really fun board for airs, or laying down hard on your turns and throwing buckets of spray.
