The Rooster came about because of a “what if “conversation with some of the team. It was loosely based on the Hustler. We changed the outline, rocker and venturi configuration, so that the board would fit better in rounder waves but still retain its performance in everyday surf. P.S. it was named after an enormous Jersey Giant Rooster who claims every morning…. loudly!!!!

Got a 5'7 (I weigh about 160 lbs) and it's one of my all time favorite shapes. Like it in everything up to about 7-8 foot and strongly prefer quad setup. Snappy, drivey, holds nicely in bigger/steeper sections, only breaks free/slides when you push it off, and can handle some tough drops. Super reliable. Will definitely get another when the one I have now dies.
Bought it for bigger days but took it out today in 3-4 clean conditions this thing flies down the line, took me a sec to figure the board out. I love it. Totally reccomend. Got a 6'0 I'm 5'10 weigh 200
Hands down the best short board I have had under my feet. I surf this with a Quad Fin set up Rusty Fins, I have the 5'6 Paddles really well like a 6'0. I surfed it in 2-4 foot at La jolla and loved it. Then I surfed it on my local Reef at 8 feet, Handles late drops well gives you tons of hold when you need it, but when you want to dig into a turn shwack it unloads exactly how you want. I'm sold RUSTY for life.
just got one 5'11! Th board is amazing!!! Good drive, the channel plus de concaves works very well. easy to paddle in and once you stand up you already fell the speed. today the waves are under the 3 foot but the wind is just perfect and the rooster fits perfectly into manouvers and mini tubes. Really surprise me, because i bought it thinking about waves little bigger like 5 to 6 foot.
Can't wait for the next swell!
